Valerie Fox, a Facilitator in Wisconsin and administrator of a Group Home for youth, shared the following email recently:"
"A thirteen year old girl leaving group home placement wrote this in a goodbye letter to me.
'The Virtues Project has gotten me a long way. Every time I was having a rough time with my family or with peers around the house, you'd pull out the good old virtues card and after we did a Virtues Pick I seemed to feel sooo much better! It was like someone was holding me tight and helping me get through the hard times. I would have to say that the best part of doing a Virtues Pick is when we give acknowledgements. It makes me feel like I am a good person and that I have good traits in me that I have never noticed before. After I leave, I can tell you that I will bring them along with me and always pass the wonderful feeling of being acknowledged on to my new family, friends, and teachers!!'
